Amid the controversy of E L James' trilogy-inspired movie Fifty Shades of Grey which was released last week, Media Arts & Studies Professor Joseph Slade discussed with the Columbus Dispatch how its possible for a series of books featuring bondage and sadomasochism become a mainstream phenomenon.
According to Slade who has written reference books on pornography, “We are a more sexualized society. What was once sort of taboo is now sort of part of everyday lives."
