MDIA alum L.M. Harter has been named the "Cinestory's 2016 TV Fellow" based upon her spec script for "Broad City". L graduated from Ohio University's MDIA program in 2006, and cites professor Eric Williams as one of her greatest influences. After completing her undergraduate degree, she went on to earn her MFA in Screenwriting from University of Texas, and started her own company Galt Productions in Austin, Texas where she also works writing coverage for the Austin Film Festival. Additionally, L runs her own film festival and has had some of her own horror genre short films screened globally.
L has said she is incredibly grateful for the Cinestory Fellowship and that she is a huge fan of Broad City. At first she was not certain that her script would go anywhere, but ultimately she heeded the advice that she gives many of her own students "write what you yourself would watch." Congratulations to MDIA alumnus and Cinestory Fellow L.M. Harter for her many great achievements!
