MDIA's MPRI Track Welcomes Industry Leaders for 2018 Fall Semester Skype Q&A Series
The Music Production and Recording Industry program has been welcoming six leading music industry figures for the ongoing 2018 Skype Q&A Series this fall semester. Each semester, key leaders in music business and production join School of Media Arts & Studies students for an hour-long conversation for a range of topics, including career strategy, marketplace realities, and best practices in production and business majors. Organized by MDIA Lecturer Josh Antonuccio, this year’s lineup has provided six notable industry professionals for Ohio University students to gain invaluable insight from.
The Fall 2018 lineup includes GRAMMY-winning mixing engineer Tony Maserati, a driving force in the New York R&B and hip scene and the mastermind behind artists such as Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Jason Mraz, Mariah Carey, and many more, Armenian songwriter Bedouine (Azniv Korkejian) who released a critically-acclaimed debut album in 2017 and serves in post production for major productions includingThe Big Sick and Hulu’s 11.22.63, GRAMMY-winning mixing engineer Michael Brauer, a 30-year legend who has mixed some of the biggest releases by Coldplay, John Mayer, Elle King, and many more, Nate Cameron, tour manager for breakthrough artist Tank & the Bangas, Steve Knopper, author and music industry journalist for Rolling Stone and contributor to The New York Times, and Maria Rice, GRAMMY-nominated mastering engineer for Peerless Mastering.
