Brick City Records, Ohio University’s premier student-run record label, has announced their 2016-2017 artist roster featuring emergent talent from across the state of Ohio. This year’s roster will include Clubhouse (Athens, OH), Personal Public (Columbus, OH), Sarah Skinner (Cleveland, OH) and Croix (Cleveland, OH).
“The students of Brick City Records have curated a phenomenal collection of vibrant artists, spanning across different genres,” said Josh Antonuccio, one of the faculty advisors to BrickCity Records. “Artists will have a chance to work with production and business students in developing their releases, as well as gain access to our high-end recording facilities.” Antonuccio, along with professor Eddie Ashworth, oversees the student-run label, which is the year-long focus of an exclusive capstone class in the Ohio University School of Media Arts and Studies.
Brick City Records’ new artist roster features a selection top tier of Midwest talent. This includes Clubhouse, an upbeat indie pop band, with strong local roots and a touring history across Ohio, Personal Public, a hip alternative electro-rock group who have been building a stellar following in Columbus, Sarah Skinner, a buzzing indie pop singer in Cleveland, who has been reaching an expanding national audience with her trademark sound and Croix, a forward thinking electronic producer, working with several talented vocalists.
Brick City Records will be working with these artists to release three separate EP’s, a featured single and respective music videos. The culmination of these works will be on display during each live performance at the Brick City Showcase on April 20th at The Union, Athens, OH. Brick City recently went through a rebranding strategy to appeal to a wider and diverse music scene that spans far beyond the Athens city limits. The students involved with Brick City are excited for the coming releases and the experience of working with buzzing artists.
