MDIA Welcomes Craig Finn of The Hold Steady for an Exclusive Online Discussion
The Ohio University School of Media Arts & Studies welcomes Craig Finn for an interactive online interview session on Tuesday 10/3.
Finn is best known as the front man of acclaimed rock outfit The Hold Steady, with whom he has released six studio albums. The band has consistently been a fan and critic favorite, producing songs that traverse insightful lyricism and Springsteen-esque anthems. Their albums have been ranked as some of the best of the 2000s by the likes of Pitchfork Media, Stereogum, and Rolling Stone.
Prior to The Hold Steady, Finn was the front man of beloved Minneapolis post-punk band Lifter Puller. Finn records and performs nationally as a solo artist, and has released three albums, including this year’s critically acclaimed album We All Want The Same Things. Finn will discuss the journey of his career in the music industry, as well as the ways he approaches his artistry in an ever-changing marketplace.
“This is an opportunity for Music Production and Recording Industry students with an interest in the music industry to talk with someone who has led a band at the top of their genre, as well as navigated a tumultuous music industry as a solo artist,” said Ohio University School of Media Arts & Studies Lecturer Josh Antonuccio. “Craig is easily one of the best songwriters in his genre and we are privileged to have him join us.”
The live Q&A session will take place in RTVC 027 at 10:45 AM. For more information, email Josh Antonuccio at antonucn@ohio.edu.
