James Shinault, Vice President of Festival Projects & Fan Experience at AC Entertainment, will visit with Music Production and Recording Industry majors at the Ohio University School of Media Arts and Studies this week. AC Entertainment is responsible for the development of major music festivals in the United States, including The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival and Forecastle Fest, as well as booking tours for major artists in the Southeastern US. Shinault will be on hand to talk about the live music industry, specifically event and festival organizing. In addition, Shinault will discuss internship positions at Bonnaroo 2017 and opportunities at AC Entertainment.
Josh Antonuccio, Lecturer in the School of Media Arts & Studies, welcomes Shinault to speak with MPRI majors each year to discuss the emerging landscape of the live music industry and to share about positions for Ohio University students. Last year, OU MPRI student Matt Spence was accepted into an internship position at Bonnaroo. “The experience was incredible,” Spence shared. “I learned so much during my time down there and realized how many great opportunities there are for us as OU students.” Students interested in meeting with Shinault can attend his Q&A session in Bentley 227 on Thursday, November 10th at 10:30AM.
