Visiting assistant professor Wolfgang Suetzl’s article, "Elicitive Conflict Transformation and New Media: In Search for a Common Ground", has been published in a special issue of the open-access journal Media and Communication. Dedicated to peace building in the age of new media, and edited by MDIA alumni Vladimir Bratić (PhD, 2005), the issue explores the innovative use of new media technologies in peace building from both theoretical and applied angles. In his contribution, Suetzl examines elicitive conflict transformation, a communication-based model of conflict management advocated by writers such as John Paul Lederach and Wolfgang Dietrich, and its relationship to communication media from a media theory perspective.
