Following their recent trip to this year’s South by Southwest Conference in Austin, TX, 24 School of Media Arts and Studies students will be hosting two panel discussions in April to share their experiences.
There will be two separate events, one on Thursday April 17th from 8:00-9:30PM and the other on Thursday April 24th from 8:00-9:30PM. Both will be held in RTV 281 and the group will be splitting in two, so there will be a different set of students hosting each event.
The SXSW students will address recent industry changes and trends that were discussed throughout the conference and talk about what they learned from the multiple panels, interview events, and information sessions they attended.
A key topic will be their networking experiences, the professionals they engaged with and the depth of advice they received from their one-on-one mentoring sessions. Also, they will share about some of the best performances they attended and what it was like to be in the heart of the music and media industry for the week.
Faculty and students are welcome to attend both sessions, especially OU MDIA students who have an interest in attending next year’s South by Southwest experience.
