The Ohio University School of Media Arts & Studies is pleased to announce that this year’s MDIA Production Masterclass will be offered again with Jim Eno at the renowned studio Public-HiFi in Austin, TX. Students in this course have the opportunity to work side-by-side as assistant engineers with producer Jim Eno and some of the best musicians in Austin, TX. Eno is an on-demand producer, who is also the drummer and co-founder of the critically acclaimed band Spoon. Each year, Eno curates recordings for Spotify from his studio and he has welcomed an array of impressive artists. That list includes Arcade Fire, Courtney Barnett, Lady GaGa, Miguel, Miike Snow, and Explosions In the Sky, just to name a few.
Last year, OU students worked with notable Austin, TX artists, including the 10-piece Afropop band Hard Proof. Recently named one of the top 10 live bands in Austin, the group featured top notch musicians, including a horn section that works with the likes of Gary Clark Jr and Black Joe Lewis. OU MDIA students participated at every level in the process with Eno, and all received engineering credits on the first single by the band.
