The School of Media Arts & Studies has been been privileged to host Dr. Qais Al-Tameemi as a Visiting Assistant Professor this Spring, currently on sabbatical from United Arab Emirates University in the Middle East where he teaches in their Department of Mass Communication.
During Spring 2014 he has been working under the supervision of Dr. Don Flournoy on several research projects. One project is a survey of Arab Gulf students use of and attitudes toward social networks at Ohio University, while the other discusses the role of NASA (The National Aeronautics and Space Administration) in Space Communication.
In his time at Ohio University, Dr. Al-Tameemi has conducted countless interviews with on-campus with Gulf students using a triangulation method in data collection and SPSS analysis. In addition, he has visited the NASA Headquarters Library in Washington D. C. to further his research.
Dr. Al-Tameemi will return to the UAE after the Spring 2014, however, we're happy to host him once again in the USA.
