MDIA Hosts Grammy-Award Winning Mixing Engineer Michael Brauer For Skype Interview Session
The School of Media Arts & Studies will host legendary mixing engineer Michael Brauer for an interactive Skype Q&A session on Monday November 14th, at 9AM. Michael Brauer is a pioneer in the music industry and has worked with scores of legendary artists including Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin, The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Coldplay, John Mayer, Elle King, James Bay, Ash, My Morning Jacket, Grizzly Bear, and Ben Folds, to name just a few.
Brauer has created ground-breaking approaches to mixing music and is a multiple GRAMMY winner, including awards for his mixing with Coldplay (Viva La Vida/ Parachutes), John Mayer (Battle Studies/ Continuum), as well as with Angelique Kidjo and Calle 13. Brauer's career in the music industry began in 1976 as a tea boy at Media Sound Studios in New York, and from there he continued on to work with legendary experts at creating hit records, the likes of which include Bob Clearmountain, Mike Barbiero, Tony Bongiovi, and Harvey Goldberg. He currently works in Electric Lady Studio B in New York. “We are thrilled to have Michael Brauer join us for another year of dialogue with students,” said Ohio University School of Media Arts & Studies Lecturer Josh Antonuccio. “Brauer has both expertise and passion for the technical approaches that impact the artistry of making music.
