MDIA Fall Semester-in-LA Students Meet With President Nellis during Hollywood Bowl Event
Students in the 2018 Fall Semester-in-LA Program met with Ohio University President Duane Nellis during a picnic hosted by the Bobcats-in-LA Alumni Chapter on September 8th. The picnic preceded a concert at the Hollywood Bowl attended by approximately 70 Bobcat alums and 20 students in the current LA Program.
“I’m grateful to President Nellis for praising our LA program during his address to attendees and, especially, the students and alumni that are building successful careers in LA,” said OHIO-in-LA Director Roger Cooper. “He spent a considerable amount of time at the picnic chatting with our current students and we were grateful for his interest and enthusiasm about our LA Program.”
This is the 5th anniversary year for the OHIO-in-LA Program. More than 200 Ohio University students have participated in the program since Fall 2014. Dozens of program alums now work in LA at top media and entertainment companies. Students work at LA-based internships, take classes, produce a short film, and meet with hundreds of alums and professionals during the program.
