MDIA and the GRID Lab are hosting Carrie Shaw, the CEO and Ryan Lebar, the Creative Director from Embodied Labs on campus all day Monday February 20th and Tuesday the 21st.
Embodied Labs is a company in Chicago that is working on VR technologies for healthcare applications. They created “We Are Alfred”. “We Are Alfred” uses a virtual reality headset, headphones and a hand-tracking device to immerse users in a live-action story from the perspective of the 74-year-old man named Alfred. The story consists of six, seven-minute scenes that span from spilling wine to waiting in a doctor’s office, all as Alfred, who has audio and visual impairments.
They will be giving a public demonstration of “We Are Alfred” on Tuesday morning, February 21st from 9:00am – 10:15am in the Schoonover Auditorium.
