One of only two U.S. public institutions to offer a year-around (Fall, Spring, Summer terms) program in Los Angeles, the OHIO-in-LA program gives students an exceptional opportunity to “Learn, Intern, and Experience” LA’s media and creative industries.
Students take classes, complete internships at LA-area companies, and produce a short film in Los Angeles. In addition, participants tour major production studios (e.g., Warner Bros., Sony Pictures, DreamWorks), media companies (e.g., The Jim Henson Company, YouTube Space LA), attend productions (NCIS: Los Angeles,
The Voice, America’s Got Talent, American Music Awards), sponsored activities/events (Hollywood Bowl, Disneyland, Dodgers/Angels baseball, alumni screening), and network with hundreds of Ohio University alums and media professionals. The “Big Sibs Program” matches students with a professional mentor (alum), which further enhances opportunities to connect with—and learn from--top media professionals.
