Embodied Labs is a company in Chicago that is working on VR technologies for healthcare applications. They created “We Are Alfred”. “We Are Alfred” uses a virtual reality headset, headphones and a hand-tracking device to immerse users in a live-action story from the perspective of the 74-year-old man named Alfred. The story consists of six, seven-minute scenes that span from a spilling wine to waiting in a doctor’s office all as Alfred, who has audio and visual impairments.
They will be giving a public demonstration of “We Are Alfred” on Tuesday morning, February 21st from 9:00a – 10:15a in the Schoonover Auditorium.
