Announcing Graduate Assistantship Opportunities For Students Studying Public Media
The Ohio University School of Media Arts and Studies and WOUB Public Media in Athens, announce graduate assistantships for women and persons of color to study public media.
This program is a 12-‐month (August 2014 to August 2015) Master of Arts degree in Media Arts and Studies.
The Public Media program has been ongoing since 1981 and has trained over one hundred thirty public media professionals to return to a career with specialized skills through course work in the School and professional work at WOUB. Students select an area of specialization related to media management.
However, alternative areas of specialization, relevant to changes in technology and organizational structure within public media can be developed in consultation with the student's Program of Study Committee.
Over the year, students will receive a total stipend of $15,000 plus tuition waivers for two semesters and summer session. Room, board, general expenses, insurance, and student fees are the responsibility of the student.
Requirements for application to the program are two years of full-‐time work in public media and a baccalaureate degree with at least a 2.5 grade point average. No GRE required. Send college transcript along with a letter of intent and references to:
