This semester, the Ohio University School of Media Arts & Studies is beginning a short series to celebrate our newest faculty members. This week, we continue by featuring Eve Ng.
Eve Ng is joining the School of Media Arts & Studies as a an Assistant Professor with a joint appointment in Media Arts and Studies as well as Women and Gender Studies. She examines cultural and political formations of gender, sexuality, race, class, and nation, considering how identities and communities are defined and contested through media and culture.
Her focus is on television and new media, both as significant forms of visual culture and as sites of ongoing economic, cultural, and technological transformations. She is interested in what these changes open up and constrain and how relationships between mainstream and margins are being reconfigured. Most recently, she is looking at the transnational dimensions of LGBT media, with a current focus on Southeast Asia.
